| OK , so using The
Logo Creator you've made your first
logo - and it looks fantastic ! Now, how
about making some money out of it !
In this tutorial we'll show you how to get
your logo printed on T shirts, mugs &
bumper stickers with CafePress.com. I've
been using CafePress for years, they're
a web company who'll print your logo onto
just about anything then create a web page
where you can sell your branded goods -
and it won't cost you a penny to set up.
In the next few minutes, we'll talk you
through step by step, how to create a CafePress
account, upload your image and start selling
your branded merchandise. |
| |
The first step is
to open an account at cafepress.com.
They'll just ask you for a username
and password for now.
If you think this tutorial is helpful,
feel free to say that I referred you,
enter first4calls under 'Referral
Store ID'.
|
|
|
| |
Then you're through
to the account page where you've got
numerous options, for now we're going
to concentrate on the Sell Online
section. Click 'Create + Manage' and
we'll start setting up your store.
|
|
|
| |
On this page you'll
see all the shops you operate (you
can have as many as you want).
Click on 'Create New Shop' at the
top right of the screen.
|
|
|
| |
You can operate a
'Premium' shop (which comes with fees)
but here we're going to create a free
'basic' shop. Click on 'Open A Basic
Shop'.

|
|
|
| |
Now just press 'Submit' and
you've created your first shop !
OPEN A SHOP
Your shop has been created!
Your Shop ID is first4calls
You can view your shop at http://www.cafepress.com/first4calls |
| |
It's all very well
having set up your first shop, but
just like any High Street store, you
now need to start selling the goods.
This is the sexy part ! Now let's
start putting your logo on things
you can sell.
Click on 'Add Products To My Shop'
and you'll be presented with a huge
list of items you can sell.
This list will change from month to
month as new seasonal items are added
and old ones are taken off. You'll
receive emails telling you of these
changes and advising on marketing
techniques from time to time.
Here we're going to select 'Ash Grey
T-Shirt', click once on the image.
|
|
|
| |
And you'll see the
T-Shirt and a note saying 'No Image
Selected'. Click just below on 'Select
Image'
|
|
|
| |
Here you'll be taken
to your 'Media Basket'. Remember earlier
we talked about having as many 'shops'
as you want ? Well to make life easy
all your logos and images are stored
in one place, and every time you go
to add a logo to an item, you're presented
with all the images you've got stored
with CafePress.
Here we're going to add a new one.
Click on 'Add Image'.
|
|
|
| |
You'll be asked to
agree to their terms and conditions
(basically that you've created the
image and no one else holds the copyright).
You can upload a jpg or png file,
the file size limits are 7mb for a
jpg and 4mb for a png, and CafePress
advise "When creating images,
start your image at 200-300 DPI."
(There's much more advice on graphics
on the CafePress site).
We've already exported our logo from
The Logo Creator
as 'Jpeg - High Res Full' so just
browse to the file and press 'upload'. |
|
|
| |
You'll get a useful
status bar,
|
|
|
| |
Then you're taken
back to your 'Media Basket' now with
your logo added.
Don't forget, we're actually halfway
through adding the logo to the Ash
Grey T Shirt here, so click on 'Select'
on your logo (I have three in this
screenshot, you'll probably just have
the one to start with) and now you
get to see what your T Shirt will
look like all branded up !
|
|
|
| |
 |
| |
| As you can see, you've got numerous options
on logo size and placement, but for now we're
going to keep with the default of 'Image Height'
4 inches and 'Image Placement' center. Click
on 'Next' |
| |
Now you can choose
to add a logo (maybe a different one
?) on the reverse, we'll just leave
it blank here.
Click on 'Next' again.
|
|
|
| |
and just about the
final stage is to add a description
and price.
We're going to add a bit of text
as the 'description', and we're going
to change the price from $14.99 to
$16.99. This means every time someone
buys a T-shirt, not only does it not
cost you a penny in printing, but
you'll actually make $2 on it !
Now click on my favourite button...
|
|
|
| |
 |
And that's it !
Your store has been created and you can start
selling your goods at no hassle and cost to
yourself.
Check out the CafePress site for more details
on how and when you get paid, advice on
marketing and uploading the best image.
This example was created for real, you
can see what it looks like at http://www.cafeshops.com/first4calls
(Don't forget, the URL takes its address
from the 'Shop ID' you entered at the start
!)
Now enjoy creating and selling
a range of items all branded with the logo
you created in The Logo Creator.
