A brief history of The Logo Creator by Laughingbird Software.

Back in 1995, the internet (as we know it today) was just a baby. I began creating custom logos for clients as a way to supplement my income while working at a graphic design agency.

I soon realized that working for yourself was the only way to fly. I soon quit my 'day job' and begin creating custom logos for others. I did this successfully for nearly 6 years.

Then I had a brainstorm idea. I was getting too busy and needed to slow down a bit. So, rather than point my customers to a competitor, I began working with a software product called "Director" from Macromedia (now Adobe).

Director is a product that combines graphics with programming.
I soon developed a 'machine' that gave my customers the ability to layout their own logo by moving elements around and changing text.

After some fine tuning, the software took on a life of its own. The client no longer needed me. They were happy to layout their own logo. They were happy and thrilled that they designed the logo themselves.

The Logo Creator was born in 2000.
It soon proved so popular, I decided to stop creating custom logos and focus on the software full time.

The Logo Creator version 1.2 July 19th 2000	The Logo Creator version 1.0 was actually a ground breaking piece of software. This was one of the first software products available for both Mac and Windows users. The Logo Creator was one of the first logo creation tools sold on the net. The interface of version 1.0 back in July of 2000

The Logo Creator version 2.0 August, 2001	Using feedback from version 1.0's users ... I resigned the interface from the ground up. This new version took The Logo Creator to new heights! The Logo Creator version 2.5 March, 2002	Improved logo design, better font management, cleaner outlines, better printing options ... and 3 new logos sets! This marked the year we decided to put out additional logo packages. At this time they were 'add-ons' ... you needed the original engine in order to open and modify the new logo libraries.

The Logo Creator version 3.0 July, 2003

Version 3.0 was a radical jump in technology. The features in version 3.0 are much improved over previous versions of the software. new interface (more flexible design), rotateable text, gradient text, rendering text on a curve, greater manipulation of your own imported images and updating the software via the internet were just some of the major enhancements! This marked the first time you could purchase an 'add on set' and use it as a stand alone product.

April 2004.
Version 4.0 officially launches!

We took the comments in our Laughingbird Software forum to heart! We enhanced the interface greatly. It was now much more user friendly.
AND, we added many new tutorials from the users themselves! The Laughingbird Software forum took off. That same year, the forum hit 3,000 members.
